Give a man a meal and he’ll keep asking. Teach him how to buy his own, and he’ll never go hungry again.
At Homeless Savior Foundation we do not believe it is enough to just shelter the homeless. We believe in rehabilitating them, so as a requirement for you to stay in our modern clean facilities longer than 48 hours the displaced person is required to start a training program designed to aid them on their path to rehabilitation.
At Homeless Savior Foundation. We have various job training programs designed to teach
– Counting money
– Giving accurate change
– Speaking to customers appropriately
– Helping overcome simple objectives
– Filling orders
– Waiting on customers
– Processing credit cards
– How to properly and efficiently clean
– How to properly stock shelves
– How to operate simple warehouse equipment.
In the begi nning stages of this program, all training is performed in a classroom setting, but in the more advanced stages we work with local business owners to help provide our students with on the job training and real world experience.
Homelessness is not to be taken lightly and could have happened at any stage of the person’s life, so it is better to never assume that they have already learned the life skills training they need to lead a full life.
This is why at Homeless Savior Foundation we provide training on how to perform everyday things to ensure they will be successful when they reach a more advanced level of our program.
At Homeless Savior Foundation we work with local business owners to not only provide our previously homeless individual with on the job training, but also employment opportunities.
When they first start working for these businesses, we subsidize the hourly wage to make the new employee affordable and desirable for the business owner for a period of 90 days. After this the owner can either opt to hire the individual on a full-time basis or let them go, but either way our previously homeless individual will have learned from this experience and it will help them be more successful at their next job. The apprenticeships we offer include:
Landscaping
Construction demo
Painting
Floor contractor
Store clerk
gas attendant
merchandiser
laundry mat
various factory work
and the list goes on...
Although every individual’s story is different, at the end of the day one thing is common for each one of them, they got to the point where they are homeless.
This did not happen overnight and it will not be fixed overnight, but with our mental health program we can help them figure out the base cause of how they got to be homeless and help them find solutions to their current and future problems ensuring success for many years to come…
